Visual comparison of wig densities 130%, 150% and 180%, with a close-up of hair being parted.

How to Choose the Best Lace Wig Density

Density describes how full a wig appears, but a percentage does not tell you everything about its outline or comfort.

Compare the complete style

Texture, length and cap construction influence the appearance. Curly hair can create a fuller outline than straight hair, and percentages are not necessarily directly comparable between makers.

Choose the volume you enjoy

More density does not automatically mean higher quality or a more natural result. Think about the time you want to spend detangling and styling as well as the look. Ask what a stated figure means for the actual product when the description is unclear.

Use density as one comparison point

Percentages are not a guarantee of the same appearance across every maker, cap or texture. A curly style can look fuller than straight hair without the figures telling the whole story. Consider comfort, cap fit and length too. More density does not automatically mean better quality or a more natural result; choose the volume you want to wear and maintain.
