How to Store a Ponytail Extension Without Tangling It
The attachment and the lengths need different kinds of protection when you put a ponytail extension away. A few careful steps make the next wear easier.
Release before detangling
Remove the piece by opening its fastening and releasing the comb gently. Do not drag the attachment down through your own hair. Work through tangles in the extension in small supported sections, starting with the ends and using a suitable tool for the texture.
Protect the fastening
Keep loose hairs from catching in hook-and-loop material, clips or nearby accessories. Arrange the wrap as directed without pulling it tightly around the whole piece. Do not place heavy objects on the attachment or bend it into a cramped space.
Store only when fully dry
After washing, let the whole piece dry according to its care guidance. Lay or support the lengths so they are not crushed or sharply folded, in a clean place away from direct heat and sunlight. Check the fastening again before the next wear. If it is damaged, do not compensate by tightening your own ponytail harder.
