Sharing a Wig: Why Personal Care and Fit Matter

A wig is worn close to the scalp, and its fitting and care routine is personal. Borrowing one for a photograph or event deserves more thought than sharing an ordinary accessory.

Check suitability before wearing

Another person's comfortable fit may not be yours. Look at the cap and fastening system and do not force a size that pulls or slips. Agree before any cutting, colouring or styling changes; the piece belongs to someone else.

Do not share without a cleaning plan

Follow the supplier's cleaning guidance and allow full drying between wearers. A quick spray or perfume is not a substitute for appropriate cleaning. Avoid sharing a piece when there is a scalp concern, and seek suitable advice rather than trying to solve it with stronger products.

Consider a separate piece

For regular use, having a piece fitted and cared for around your own routine may be more practical. If borrowing occasionally, keep accessories and product use clear so the owner knows what has been applied. Do not make claims that a particular fabric or treatment makes sharing risk-free.
