Wig Density and Weight Are Not the Same Thing
Share
A density percentage and a weight measurement describe different aspects of a hairpiece. Neither tells the whole story of how full it will look or how it will feel to wear.
Understand the labels
Density describes the fullness of the hair on the cap, while weight may include different parts of the product depending on how it is stated. Retailers do not always measure or describe these features in identical ways. Ask what a figure means for the specific listing.
Compare length and texture too
Longer hair can add weight without creating the same outline as a shorter curly style. Curls may look fuller because of their shape. A single number cannot substitute for cap information, photographs and the selected variation.
Choose for comfort and your intended look
More hair is not automatically better quality, and a higher percentage is not a promise of a more natural result. Consider fitting, maintenance and the time you want to spend styling. If the specification is unclear, ask before ordering rather than trying to infer it from the price or a model photograph.
