Wig Photos and Reality: What to Check Before Buying

A beautiful photograph can show a hairstyle, but it cannot answer every question about the piece behind it. Use images alongside the selected options and written description to build a realistic expectation.

Separate styling from specification

A centre parting, curled ends or a neatly laid hairline may reflect how the piece was styled for the photograph. Check which features are part of the product and which require styling. Look for the cap construction, hair material, selected length and colour. A photograph of a long version does not mean the shorter selected option will fall in the same place.

Look for more than one view

Where available, compare the front, sides and cap photographs. Check that the image belongs to the relevant option. Lighting and screens affect colour, and a model's height and proportions affect how long the hair appears. Ask a precise question when something is missing, such as where a measurement starts or how the piece fastens.

Keep a record before altering

Save your order confirmation and check the received item against the selected variation. If something seems different, contact the retailer before cutting lace, colouring or restyling it. Clear photographs and the order number make it easier to explain the concern. This is more useful than attempting an immediate alteration and then trying to establish what arrived.
